Project Overview

A digital street activation built to cut through exhibition noise.

Alpha needed to stand out among a large number of exhibition activations and quickly capture audience attention around SiGMA.

The goal was to create vivid FOOH CGI content that looks like a real event in the urban environment, creates surprise and works naturally for social sharing.

The campaign was aimed at exhibition visitors, SiGMA participants, potential partners, brand clients and a broader online audience across social platforms.

The Challenge

The CGI had to feel physically present in a real Barcelona street.

Because the project was created for FOOH and social platforms, the key technical constraint was maximum photorealism inside a real city environment.

The CGI elements had to match the camera perspective, architectural scale, street movement and lighting conditions of Barcelona.

The short format also required a strong visual effect in the first seconds, so viewers would immediately understand that something unusual was happening in the city space.

Creative Direction

Alpha breaks out of the digital layer and enters the physical city.

The central idea was to make it feel as if Alpha literally breaks beyond the limits of physical space and starts interacting with the real city.

The key visual moment is a transparent futuristic capsule opening like a portal, with large branded Alpha elements bursting out and moving realistically through a central street in Barcelona.

Process

A controlled FOOH pipeline from concept to photoreal CGI integration.

01

Storyboard

The street activation sequence and main visual beat were mapped early.

02

Animatic

Timing, movement and first-second impact were validated before final rendering.

03

Production

CGI elements, capsule design, materials and branded assets were produced.

04

Compositing

CGI was integrated into the real video with tracking, perspective and lighting alignment.

05

Final adaptations

The final output was adapted for mobile, tablet and desktop viewing.

Technical Execution

The core technical task was making the transparent CGI capsule believable in real street footage.

The most complex part was the transparent construction: it had to carry believable glass behavior, refractions, reflections and interaction with city light.

The team used accurate camera matchmove to integrate CGI naturally into the original footage and preserve correct perspective, scale and architectural alignment.

The branded 3D elements were animated to feel physically present, with movement and object behavior designed to make the scene look less like an overlay and more like an actual event.

The production was built using Cinema 4D, Redshift, After Effects, PFTrack / Camera Tracking and Photoshop.
